Went through almost two full tanks today. Finally starting to get a hang of when the clutch bites,  when you get it right it launches amazingly hard from a stop.

I kinda want to be that dumb again. I had an Elite 150 in college and I really miss the simplicity and freedom of it.

hngggg... the one with popup headlights??? Those are freaking sweet.

I’ve slowly been getting all my motorcycle friends into scooters. There’s something amazingly fun about rolling a pack of small cc bikes in a urban setting.

A giant stinger pipe definitely gets some looks from OG dirt bike guys lol

I could quiet it down quite a bit by adding a 180 after the expansion chamber... but it just looks so good as is

That thing looks like a blast. I was just browsing for scooters tonight, and someone near me is selling an Aero 125 with whitewall tires on it.

That thing looks clean as hell! And at 125, it’s almost certainly fast enough for most day to day tasks.

One of the (many) things I love about bikes, is that neat clean period  stuff like this hasn’t followed nearly the same appreciation curve as the rest of the Radwood era vehicles, but they still get similar attention. The vintage bike/scooter game is a lot easier on the wallet than the antique car game.

uggg, warped cover maybe? should have sealed. Or were you still reusing a gasket? RTV works, and there’s not really a reason for you to go back in there, so meh.

I’ll be curious where the valves are at

I have never ridden a powered two wheeled vehicle, but if my Miata sells I might look into taking the local MSF course and getting some kind of scooter. I'm not particularly interested in going fast, I just want to ride around town and on some back roads. I could see myself on an old Honda like this one.

Smoke ‘em while you got ‘em, because the posers with money will soon be coming for them as well.

Was going to say you could probably get around that by getting a 50 (A lot of states do not require a moto endorsement for 50cc and under) but PA does not appear to be one of those states.

Since that’s the case, yeah, something in that 100-150 range will be perfect for mixed use in ad out of town. and Since you are a miata person.... here’s a scooter with popup headlight :)

Yeah, it’s inevitable. It already happened to the Lambretta, Vespa, and vintage Moped markets too

Even if PA didn’t require it, I’d want to take the course just to feel more comfortable. Also, my other half isn’t a big fan of motorcycles. Her best friend’s dad died in a crash, so she’d feel better if I at least took the safety course. They run a course about 10 minutes from my house anyway.

That is a nice looking scooter.

Totally fair, and I would never think of discouraging someone from taking a safety course, they do a really good job at teaching all the needed fundamentals.

It’s just around me, I have a real easy time converting people over to the two wheel life by letting them (legally) borrow one of my 50s for a while and rip around.

I’m surprised that my gf is even ok with the idea of a scooter. For years she was really against any 2 wheeled fun, but I was broke so it wasnt really worth fighting over anyway. But now she seems less worried, and it’s not like I’m getting a bike like my brother’s Kawasaki ZX10r. That thing moves.

I'll probably set a scooter as a goal tied to something else like losing a few pounds first. Pretty sure that a 50cc scooter would be groaning under my weight right now.

They all move, but yeah an open class sport bike will forever ruin “fast” cars for you, it definitely did for me.

I’d probably avoid the 50 class al l together, they are fun, but the main use if for markets where you can ride one without a license. I’m pretty light (155), and most stock 50cc struggles to to 40 with me, and much less up hill.

liter bikes have forever fucked my sense of speed. even the daytona which is good for 80mph in first seems slow now....

That's my thought process as well...a 125 or 150cc scoot would be plenty fast enough for me!

My Ruck has a Y oshi pipe. People unfamiliar are shocked that they made Yoshi pipes for scooters.

I always love seeing serious companies enter silly markets. I couldn't stop laughing the first time I saw an ohlins remote reservoir shock on a Grom.

How about an 80cc scooter? If it isn't quick enough to move my large self around I can always sell it and then step up to 125cc.

Hey, that's lower mileage than any car I've owned.  Besides, he knows what he's got and doesn't want to be lowballed...
